Good Morning,🌸
This Sunday is Mother's Day, and before we dive into everything happening around town, I just want to take a moment to say Happy Mother's Day to all the incredible moms out there. Whether you're being celebrated with a beautiful basket, a handwritten card, or simply a long hug — you deserve every bit of it. Motherhood is one of the most selfless, powerful forces in this world, and we honor you.
I lost my mom a couple of years ago, and not a week goes by that I don't think about her. She had a long career at Radiation. Some of you may remember that place, now it’s call Harris / L3 I believe. No matter how long the days were, she always came home and fixed dinner. (did you catch that, lol) Being from Moultrie, Georgia she definitely showed her Southern roots. Our typical meal would be fried chicken, collard greens, cornbread, a slice of a well salted tomato. Thanks to my dad being Hispanic, rice and beans always had a permanent spot on the table as well. 😄
There are moments, usually on long drives, when I want nothing more than to call her just to hear her voice. She had a beautiful way of putting a smile on your face and making you feel like everything was going to be okay. To all of you still lucky enough to pick up that phone this Sunday — please do.
On a different note — the response to the Discover Titusville Dinner Club idea was absolutely overwhelming, and we are making it happen! I’m super excited about this. It’s going to be a fantastic way to meet your neighbors and connect with people in real life (IRL for the cool kids 😄). We'll be sharing all the details soon — when, where, and how to sign up. Stay tuned, because you won't want to miss this one.
Now, I know not everyone may feel this way, (certainly not my wife) but I cannot wait for football season. 😂 As a Miami Hurricanes fan, I felt like we left something on the table last year, and I hope this year we claim it. Of course that is easier said than done.
That leads me to let you know that Astronaut High School is hosting a youth football camp, and if you have a young player at home, this is a great opportunity. Getting the fundamentals down early is everything. Titusville has a proud football tradition — this is the same ground that produced legends like Wilber Marshall and Cris Collinsworth. Who knows what future star might be lacing up their cleats right here this summer? 🏈
